Hard technical problems, solved properly.

I'm Hugo, a self-taught developer. Games, simulators and the tools around them. I like the part where nobody has the answer yet.

Tick timeline seen from your machine, now at tick 18. Your inputs are known; the button you press now is played at tick 21, 3 ticks later. The opponent’s inputs are known up to tick 15, the one for tick 16 has just arrived, and ticks 17 and 18 were guessed: the game rolls back to tick 16 and replays up to 18.

About

Developer at The Good Drive, on a Unity driving simulator and the tools around it. Co-owner and lead developer at Creartstudio.

No CS degree: I learned by shipping. Netcode, shaders, procedural generation, APIs: different problems, same method. Build it, measure it, decide.
